Shegun Bakari is Advisor to HE Mr. Faure Gnassingbé, President of the Togolese Republic, on various issues, including energy. He has held this position since July 2016. He is in charge of the design and implementation of the CIZO presidential program ("Lighting" in the local language) which aims to electrify more than two million Togolese by 2022 with solar home systems. This program is at the heart of Togo's new vision of electrification. Prior to joining Togo, Bakari worked for over 10 years in Paris as an investment banker within the Société Générale Group. His last position was Director in charge of Structured Export Finance in Africa. In this position, he contributed to the financing of several investment operations on the African continent, particularly in power generation sector.
