Sanusi Mohammed Ohiare is currently the Executive Director, Rural Electrification Fund (REF) at the Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria. He has over 10 years of experience advising public and private entities on electricity access planning, mini-grid regulations, renewable energy policies and data management system for unelectrified communities in Nigeria. Prior to joining REA, he worked as a rural electrification advisor under the Nigerian Energy Support Programme of GIZ, a programme co-funded by EU and German Government. He has published a number of papers in the area of rural electrification and renewable energy financing. He holds a BSc in Economics from University of Jos - Nigeria, MSc in Energy Finance from the University of Dundee, Scotland and PhD in Rural Energy Development from De Montfort University, Leicester, UK.
