ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE)
Monica Maduekwe is a programme officer at the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) in West Africa, with experience in developing regional policies and regulatory instruments. She has worked on several energy programmes, including the ECREEE Gender and Energy Programme which she created. She initiated and oversaw the development of the ECOWAS Policy for Gender Mainstreaming in Energy Access, the ECOWAS Directive on Gender Assessments in Energy Projects and has developed investment promotion projects to increase the participation of women in the energy value chain. She has an MSc. in Energy Studies, with a specialization in Energy and the Environment, from the University of Dundee.
