Grégory Etienne is mayor of Pilate, a town in the north of Haiti. He studied at the Faculty of Law and Economics at Gonaives University and also obtained certificates in Pedagogical and Community Training. Grégory also helped the Center for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Caribbean Development Bank (BMPAD) by coordinating the Community Development Support Council (CADEC) a project involving the Pilate town centre and its eight (8) municipal districts. He is a strong champion of renewable energy and off-grid solutions, in particular to improve Pilates’ resilience in the face of the many hurricanes the region suffers.
