Mrs. Fatou Thiam Sou is in charge of the Ministry of Oil and Energy of Senegal of Studies and Planning. An economist by training. she graduated from the National School of Applied Economics of Dakar and is a holds a Master degree in Economic Analysis from the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the Cheikh Anta DIOP University of Dakar. Mrs. SOW has been working for more than 13 years in the public sector and particularly in key areas of industry and mining and then went on to work in the energy sector. She is very committed to achieving universal access to energy and is the national focal point of the Sustainable Energy for All initiative. She coordinated the process of implementing the Investment Plan and the Universal Access Prospectus, financed by the World Bank. She is also in charge of the gender mainstreaming process in the sector with important initiatives with UN-FEMME and civil society organizations like Enda Energy and Energy4impact.
