Dimitry Gershenson manages Facebook’s Energy Access Program, which focuses on helping the energy access ecosystem achieve scale by addressing sector barriers through initiatives that support technology innovation, address key information gaps, and enable institutional investment into the market. Prior to joining Facebook, Gershenson was a researcher and project lead at the University of California, Berkeley where he worked on market assessment for off-grid energy in Kenya, microgrid finance in developing economies, and public-private partnership development for universal electrification in South Sudan. He has nearly a decade of industry and academic experience in energy, finance, and international development. He holds an M.S. in Energy and Resources from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. in Natural Resource Management from Rutgers University.
