Colombia Green Building Council
Chief Executive Officer
Cristina Gamboa is Chief Executive Officer of the Colombia Green Building Council (Consejo Colombiano de Construcción Sostenible, CCCS). She joined the organization in August 2009 after a 16-year career in economic research, journalism and international relations, both in Colombia and the US. Ms. Gamboa actively participates in several networks committed to sustainable development, low carbon growth and the transformation of the built environment towards sustainability. Thanks to her leadership, CCCS has achieved significant milestones that have enabled the sustainable construction industry to become mainstream in Colombia. CCCS has been a partner of the BEA Program in Colombia since 2016. She also serves on the Board of the World Green Building Council and the EED Steering Committee, the global governing body for LEED standards, as designated by the US Green Building Council Board of Directors. Her degrees include a BA in Economics from University of Los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) and a MA in Economics and International Relations from Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies in Washington DC.
