Interim Executive Director
For over 20 years, Atef Marzouk has worked in electrical energy production from renewable energy, focusing especially on wind turbine, energy strategies and policies, as well as international cooperation. In 2007, he was appointed Senior Policy Office in charge of Renewable Energy at the African Union Commission, Department of Infrastructure and Energy, and became the Acting Head of the Energy Division. Marzouk joined the Africa Energy Commission in 2016, where he currently serves as Interim Executive Director. As Interim Executive Director, his duties include: developing the Africa Energy Information System and Database developing capacities of the African expertise; promoting and developing the use of the renewable energy; and supporting the establishment of energy policy.
