Senior Clinical Advisor on Strategy
Alishya Mayfield is the Senior Clinical Advisor on Strategy for Partners In Health (PIH), an Associate Scientist in the Division of Global Health Equity at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and an Instructor at Harvard Medical School. After initially working in congressional politics, Dr. Mayfield joined PIH in 2007. Dr. Mayfield recently served as the Clinical Advisor on Ebola Operations at PIH during the 2014 Ebola outbreak in West Africa, and through that role collaborated on the development of clinical protocols for the management of patients with Ebola virus disease. From 2015-2017, as PIH’s Health and Policy Advisor on Health Systems Strengthening, she provided technical assistance to ministries of health on the development of programs to address multidrug-resistant tuberculosis, assisted countries with health systems strengthening and capacity building, and provided programmatic direction on specific clinical areas, including childhood malnutrition, non-communicable diseases and pediatrics. In her current role as Senior Clinical Advisor on Strategy, Dr. Mayfield works closely with PIH leadership to develop programmatic and clinical strategy, and to strengthen strategic partnerships with key bilateral and multilateral institutions, foundations and corporate partners.
