PowerGen Renewable Energy
Aaron Cheng is President of PowerGen Renewable Energy, which develops, builds and operates solar micro-grids as part of its mission to create an energy system in Africa that utilizes clean, renewable energy and smarter grids to deliver power to all. PowerGen is based in Nairobi, Kenya and Arusha, Tanzania, and has over 100 employees. Cheng left the Harvard Business School after his first year to join PowerGen. Prior to HBS, Cheng was at Accel-KKR, where he invested in and supported operationally with technology growth companies, and at Barclays Capital, in Mergers & Acquisitions. He has closed more than 20 transactions ranging from buyouts, minority investments, debt financings and IPOs. He holds a BA in Political Economy and a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
