From Words to Actions: How Are Businesses Delivering Sustainable Energy Solutions?

Thursday, May 3rd: 16:00 - 17:30 - Plenary

Access to electricity remains a top priority to enable the sustainable development of many regions across the globe. Many power utilities with global operations are leading the private sector’s surge of investment in clean energy solutions in developing countries. Fortunately, they are not alone in taking on this task.

This interactive session will showcase the synergies that exist between power sector and other sectors such as telecoms and private finance to reach the Sustainable Development Goal of ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. Representatives from the different sectors will have an engaging discussion on the business models and ecosystems they are creating between themselves to deliver access to electricity. They will also highlight the roadblocks that remain to make these necessary investments and make a call for political action to help overcome them.
