Unlocking Energy Efficiency Finance for High-Impact Areas

Wednesday, May 2nd: 16:00 - 17:30 - Tejo

HOST: International Copper Alliance

Sustainable Energy For All (SEforALL) is committed to doubling the rate of improvement in energy efficiency worldwide. Energy efficiency is expected to deliver half of the actions to achieve the Paris climate change agreement. Yet, energy efficiency financing needs to at least triple annually if these goals are to be realized. Of the inefficient funding that goes to energy efficiency, less than one-percent is for much-needed capacity-building and technical assistance, which is necessary if scalable and replicable energy efficiency projects are to be realized. SEforALL’s high-impact Energy Efficiency Accelerator Platform has built partnerships in the high-impact areas – appliances, buildings, district energy, industry, lighting, transportation – that are vital to energy efficiency efforts globally. In this session we will explore creative financing and funding mechanisms that are needed to scale-up this critical work.
