Accelerating City Action for Global Impact

Thursday, May 3rd: 16:00 - 17:30 - Tejo

HOST: Building Efficiency Accelerator, District Energy Systems Accelerator, Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency

City-level action is critical for advancing sustainable development and achieving national and international climate and energy goals. This interactive session will highlight representative and replicable case studies in which cities successfully overcame barriers to finance to convert energy efficiency ambitions into real project implementation. Case studies will be drawn from two Sustainable Energy for All Energy Efficiency Accelerators that work primarily at the local government level: the Building Efficiency Accelerator and the District Energy in Cities Initiative. Participants will discuss what lessons can be learned from these cases, and how they can be replicated in participant cities/localities around the world.
